BLACK FRIDAY | BE CAREFUL | MAKE SURE IT’S A SPECIAL
With BLACK FRIDAY fast approaching, it is certainly an event that the entire world anticipates. Everyone who matters wants to shop on BLACK FRIDAY. What is our strategy for this significant day? How can we ensure that everything you purchase is genuinely on special?
The greatest question of all time is:
IS THE STUFF MARKED DOWN ON BLACK FRIDAY REALLY MARKED DOWN OR NOT?
Let’s try and answer that question:
The first mention of the
word BLACK FRIDAY was 24 September 1869, and it had a very negative connotation. On that day, two ruthless wall street financiers, Jay Gould and Jim Fisk, worked together to buy up as much of the American nation’s gold, hoping the price of gold will increase and they'd be able to sell it for a profit. However, what they ended up doing was bankrupting everyone, from wall street barons to farmers.
BLACK FRIDAY can BANKRUPT you.
By spending money, you don’t have to make purchases on Black Friday. This is a huge problem. Then the question I always ask is: Is it really marked down? Is it really such a great special, and then again, do I really need it?
BUT IT’S BLACK FRIDAY—IT MUST BE MARKED DOWN...
I found myself not taking part in the frenzy; I wanted to see if this is really such a great spending day.
I came to the following conclusion:
BLACK FRIDAY can be a great spending day if you have the money to spend. But there’s a few things you need to take into consideration before tapping that card:
1. Can I really Afford this?
2. Am I buying on credit or cash?
3. Is this product really marked down?
4. Do I really need it?To answer these questions, it’s going to mean you need to take a step back and do your research first before you buy anything.
BLACK FRIDAY FRENZY:
Everyone gets so involved in the buying frenzy on BLACK FRIDAY, but nobody seems to take a step back and ask the question, is it really that great special. If I am going to take my kids school fees to buy that one thing I’ve been wanting forever. Is it really going to be worth it.
DO YOUR RESEARCH:
Many shops and outlets will increase the prices of the items that will go on BLACK FRIDAY specials to ensure people buy it. It seems like a huge discount but in fact it is not.
Therefore, it is of utmost importance that before you buy anything on BLACK FRIDAY you do the following:
4 STEPS TO FOLLOW BEFORE TAKING PART IN THE BLACK FRIDAY FRENZY…1. Make a list of the thing you want to buy on BLACK FRIDAY.
2. Do a budget and see how much you can afford to spend.
3. Do research on the normal prices of these items prior to going to the shops.
4. Don’t make any impulse purchases, this will only land you in big trouble.
By following these 4 rules before partaking in the BLACK FRIDAY FRENZY you will not end up buying yourself bankrupt and then be stuck with things you most probably did not want in the first place and the financial burden to pay for it just because you got swept away in the excitement of the sale.
